Course Overview
The First Aid at Work Requalification Training Programme refreshes and updates the practical skills and knowledge required to continue acting as a qualified workplace first aider. Designed for learners with an existing First Aid at Work certificate, this course ensures continued confidence in responding to workplace emergencies and maintaining compliance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.
Aims
To refresh learners’ knowledge and practical skills required to provide safe and effective first aid in workplace emergency situations.
Skills Practised
This practical course supports learners to:
- Assess emergency situations safely
- Perform CPR and use an AED confidently
- Manage unconscious casualties
- Treat bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, and minor injuries
- Respond to medical emergencies including asthma, seizures, strokes, and heart attacks
- Record and report incidents correctly
Note: Practical skills are developed through demonstrations, guided activities, and realistic scenarios.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Refresh their understanding of workplace first aid responsibilities
- Respond effectively to workplace injuries and illnesses
- Deliver safe CPR and emergency first aid
- Manage incidents calmly and professionally
- Maintain accurate accident records
