The Activity First Aid Training Programme provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to respond confidently to injuries and emergencies in active, sport, and leisure environments. This course is designed for instructors, coaches, and activity leaders working in settings where participants may be at risk of injury.

Aims

To equip learners with the confidence and practical skills required to provide effective first aid during sports and activity-based emergencies.

Skills Practised

This practical course supports learners to:

  • Assess emergency situations safely during activities
  • Manage fractures, sprains, strains, and head injuries
  • Perform CPR and use an AED confidently
  • Treat bleeding, burns, and shock
  • Respond to medical emergencies such as asthma, seizures, and anaphylaxis
  • Stabilise casualties until emergency services arrive

Note: Practical skills are developed through demonstrations, scenario-based training, and activity-focused simulations.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Respond effectively to injuries in activity settings
  • Manage sports-related and activity-based emergencies
  • Deliver safe CPR and emergency first aid
  • Provide calm and appropriate care during incidents
  • Maintain casualty safety until help arrives
