The Life-Threatening Bleed Control Training Programme provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to manage severe bleeding emergencies effectively. This course is designed for individuals who may be first responders in high-risk environments where rapid bleeding control is critical to saving life.
Aims
To equip learners with the confidence and practical skills required to recognise and control life-threatening bleeding quickly and effectively.
Skills Practised
This practical course supports learners to:
- Identify life-threatening bleeding
- Apply direct pressure effectively
- Use wound packing techniques
- Apply tourniquets safely and correctly
- Respond quickly in trauma situations
- Provide immediate first aid until emergency services arrive
Note: Practical skills are developed through demonstrations, guided activities, and realistic trauma scenarios.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Recognise severe bleeding emergencies
- Apply appropriate bleeding control techniques
- Use haemorrhage control equipment safely
- Act quickly in life-threatening situations
- Stabilise casualties until emergency help arrives

Learners will demonstrate practical skills through supervised trauma-based scenarios and instructor assessment.
