Course Overview
The Basic Life Support, AED & Anaphylaxis – Adult, Child & Infant Training Programme provides learners with the essential practical skills and knowledge needed to respond confidently to life-threatening emergencies across all age groups. This course focuses on CPR, AED use, and the recognition and management of severe allergic reactions in adults, children, and infants.
Aims
To equip learners with the confidence and practical skills required to provide CPR, use an AED, and respond safely to anaphylactic emergencies in adults, children, and infants.
Skills Practised
This practical course supports learners to:
- Assess emergency situations safely
- Perform adult, child, and infant CPR confidently
- Use an AED correctly and safely
- Recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
- Provide appropriate first aid for severe allergic reactions
- Manage unconscious casualties effectively
Note: Practical skills are developed through demonstrations, guided activities, and supervised practice.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the principles of basic life support
- Recognise signs of cardiac arrest and anaphylaxis across all age groups
- Deliver effective CPR safely for adults, children, and infants
- Use an AED with confidence
- Respond calmly and appropriately during emergencies
