Course Overview

The Basic Life Support, AED & Anaphylaxis Training Programme provides learners with the essential practical skills and knowledge needed to respond confidently to life-threatening emergencies. This course focuses on CPR, safe AED use, and the recognition and treatment of severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.

Aims

To equip learners with the confidence and practical skills required to provide CPR, use an AED, and respond safely to anaphylactic emergencies.

Skills Practised

This practical course supports learners to:

• Assess emergency situations safely
• Perform adult CPR confidently
• Use an AED correctly and safely
• Recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
• Administer appropriate first aid for severe allergic reactions
• Manage unconscious casualties effectively

Note: Practical skills are developed through demonstrations, guided activities, and supervised practice.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

• Understand the principles of basic life support
• Recognise signs of cardiac arrest and anaphylaxis
• Deliver effective CPR safely
• Use an AED with confidence
