Practical workplace first aid training designed to help learners respond confidently to workplace emergencies and medical incidents.
Course Overview
The First Aid at Work (FAW) Training Programme gives learners the practical skills and knowledge needed to respond confidently to workplace emergencies. Designed for appointed workplace first aiders, this course meets Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements and prepares learners to manage incidents safely until professional help arrives.
Aims
To equip learners with the confidence and practical skills required to provide safe and effective first aid in workplace settings.
Skills Practised
This practical course supports learners to:
- Assess emergency situations safely
- Perform CPR and use an AED confidently
- Manage unconscious casualties
- Treat bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, and minor injuries
- Respond to medical emergencies including asthma, seizures, strokes, and heart attacks
- Record and report incidents correctly
Note: Practical skills are developed through demonstrations, guided activities, and realistic scenarios.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the responsibilities of a workplace first aider
- Respond effectively to workplace injuries and illnesses
- Deliver safe CPR and emergency first aid
- Manage emergency situations calmly and professionally
- Maintain accurate accident records

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the programme.
